About

A practice for the work between the tools.

JAM 21 is led by Gary Hili, Lead Product Engineer. We help businesses whose systems have drifted away from the way the work actually gets done.

The signs are familiar. The same data sits in three places. A spreadsheet is the thing everyone is afraid to sort. The inbox is also the filing system. Software bought for an old problem is still being paid for.

JAM 21 is not a conventional web agency. We do not open with a redesign or a platform. We start with what is not working, and we recommend the smallest practical thing that would help. Sometimes that is software we build. Sometimes it is a connection between tools you already have. Sometimes the useful advice is to stop.

Gary works as a product engineer: close to the problem, close to the people using the thing, and careful about what gets built. JAM 21 is how that work is offered to businesses directly.

How a piece of work starts

With a conversation about what is stuck. If there is a fit, the usual first step is a systems review, or a smaller piece of work with a named edge. The approach is the same either way: discover, shape, build the smallest practical solution.

Tell us what is not working.

A discovery call is a conversation about the work. Bring the awkward process. We will help you see the smallest useful next step.
